Potty Training a Boy

The actual process for potty training a boy isn't actually that much different from training a girl, in fact the process is pretty much exactly the same.

There are a few things that are different about potty training boys though. On average girls get through the potty routine slightly quicker (the average time can be anything from a few days to a couple of months in the worst case scenario). However, it is a safer process for boys as girls are at a higher risk of infection if safety guidelines are not adhered to.

Potty Training Readiness

Regardless of sex it is important to make sure that the child is ready for potty training. To give you an idea of averages, in the 1960's most children were potty trained by the age of 18 months. Nowadays, however, this age has almost doubled to three years or 36 months.

The invention of the modern diaper and its super absorbent capabilities is partly to blame for this as children don't feel uncomfortable when after accidents like they used to and so have no incentive to remove them.

A boy is ready for training when...

When your son has the physical ability to walk and squat down and is able to communicate, whether verbally or with the use of his hands, then for the most part he is ready. You also need to make sure that he has regular soft formed bowel movements.

Some bonus signs can give you an idea how easy it is for him to be trained. Things like: The ability to follow simple instructions, showing signs of wanting to be independent, trying to imitate your actions, signs that he dislikes a dirty nappy and so on.

What is the Quickest way to train a boy

Conventional potty training can take as long as a couple of months to complete, however new research into child psychology has meant advances in potty training methodologies.

New guides on the internet promise that your child can be potty trained in as little as a few days and maximum of a week by using new ways of manipulating the child's psychology. It is important, however that you choose to follow a potty training guide that is well established and has had significant positive results because there are some that have been thrown together to make a quick buck.

I wish you good luck in potty training your son!

Do you have over a month to potty train your child or would your prefer to get through it quicker? If you don't want to wait so long then click here to potty train your child in as little as a total of five hours spread out over a few days using the revolutionary new HEART method.

Interesting Themes For Children's Birthday Parties

Children enjoy playing make believe games because it allows them to think of worlds other than what they are used to and expand them as they wish.

Make believe activities are a good way of exercising their creative faculties and allowing them to maximize their capacities for creation, discovery and foresight. It is, therefore, for this reason that themed birthday parties are a hit among children.

It doesn't matter what kind of party you're intending to throw. Any children's party may be celebrated with a theme. In fact, you don't really need to have a particular occasion to be able to host a themed party, or any party, for that matter. If it's your child's enjoyment that's on your mind, you can have a themed party every day for the rest of month, if your budget and energies permit it.

Themes are not exactly gender exclusive. However, there are certain children's birthday party themes that fit girls only or boys only. For example, fairy themes, luaus, Disney princess themes and sweet sixteens are exclusively for girls. On the other hand, sports themes, pirates, cars, medieval knights and aliens are usually for boys.

Other interesting children's birthday party themes include slumber sleepover, tropical outdoors, under the sea, indian themes, cowboys, character-centric themes (Spongebob Squarepants, Blues Clues, Kim Possible, etc), outer space, farm animal themes, Star Wars, and others. You can mix and match popular themes of you want.

For a themed party to be successful, the kinds of food you serve, the games you play and the favors you give out should be consistent with your theme.

Hence, if you've decided on a fairy princess party, your food should include things like dainty-looking cupcakes and shimmery food coloring in pastel colors, and your giveaway bags should have princess prints on them. The same goes for cowboy themes.

You can ask your guests to wear costumes that coincide with your chosen theme to make the event more interesting. If you're not really into costumes and find preparing for this a little tedious, you can ask your guests to bring something or wear something that would reflect the theme.

As the host of the party, of course, your child should be in costume. It's his day, after all, and you want to make the pictures stand out and be memorable. Your baby celebates his or her birthday only once a year, so why not go all out and make this extra special?

Woe the Web

Finding a good and reliable web hosting company is like looking for the right husband. The word 'right' and 'husband' don't belong together in the first place, many insists! Well, how can I argue with something to inadvertantly correct and incorrect at the same time?

So, you've decided to have your own website but don't have a $3000 budget to set it up. You'll be surprised. My first few months into this 'freelancing' world cause me to jump quite a couple of times. One of those times have something to do with web hosting....yeah, they wanted to charge an arm, a leg and 1/2 a kidney to set up my domain name, hosting and also setup no more than 10 pages of my website for the hosting account. Gee, thankfully I have a friend who is in the web hosting business and knew the ropes. So, I got away with a good price for my first website.

Anyway, here are a few things you should consider looking out for when you're out web-host-hunting.

The company

There are loads of bogus web hosting companies out to rip the hearts of genuine home business owners. Their main intention is to get people to sign up for their web hosting accounts and then run with the money. Simple enough strategy but you'll be surprised at the kind of people behind this. Some of them are barely out of puberty. In this Internet and CD age, nothing suprises me anymore, frankly. But kids know the way on the Internet. The way I look at it, if they can find their way to buy foreign wives by cheating about their age and using their parents' credit cards, they can easily get others to pay for a 'bogus' web hosting account without so much as lift a finger.

So, advice is: look into the company, if they have an email, email them. If they have an address, check it out *better still if they have a map to their place. If they have pictures of their founders of the web hosting company and personnel, all the better. At least you a face your can refer to when you're dealing with them on the web hosting facility.

The price

You cannot start a business without knowing your budget and the kind of money you would need to start a business. Similarly, you cannot find the right web hosting company without knowing how much you're willing to pay for the web hosting facility and web hosting service.

So, be practical about the needs of your web hosting requirement and be frank about how much you're willing to pay for it.

The customer service

But there's one advice that I can give you. The web hosting industry is a relatively competitive one. There are tons of good web hosting companies, small and big ones alike, out there. Don't jump on to the first web-host-bandwagon you see. Look around and make sure you like the web host. Communicate with the people in the company and ask them lots of questions. If their customer service is good, go for it.

As their web hosting client, you have to expect them to give you nothing less than PERFECT hosting customer service, although frankly, their profit margin for hosting is quite slim.

Don't pay monthly

One thing I know is that paying on a monthly basis is not a good idea. It's better to just book and get the hosting account for the whole year. So, make sure you find the right one right from the start! Otherwise, you're stuck with the web hosting company for the whole year. Why not pay for web hosting on a monthly basis? Easy, it costs more!

You see, if you can get a web hosting account and domain for USD$105 or a whole year, why pay USD$14.95 per month? BECAUSE USD$14.95 per month works out to be USD$179.40 per year!! That's USD$74.40 more! So, don't be enticed with their monthly payment schemes.

Let's look at it this way, if you find the right web hosting company from the start, you'll be more than happy to stay with them for as long as you're still in business, right?

Instant Activation

Yes, if you're paying it online. You HAVE TO ensure that the activation is immediate. You want to know that if you're paying them instantly, you should get the account activated instantly as well. The longest time I would tolerate to get my website up and running is 24 hours - if I was paying them online. There's no reason for a delay since everything done online can be done instantly.

Build it yourself

If you're a quick learner, you can definitely do everything up by yourself. No problems to it. If the plan comes with a site studio (a DIY system), then it's great! You're getting value for money. What's a site studio? Well, it's a web based program that allows you to create your own websites online. Some of them are really quite simple to use. It's almost like working with a Microsoft Word program - copying, pasting and writing all into the web browser and then saving it.

If you know basic HTML, you probably won't be using the site studio but it's worth having it around in case you need something up really quick. Besides, most site studios come with quite a huge database of templates that you can use for your website. This saves you time, effort and money in hiring a graphic designer and writer like me.

On the site

You should be getting some side dishes along with your new web hosting account. Look out for free blogs, forums, scripts, ecommerce shopping carts, cgi scripts, newsletter forms, enquiry forms, customer support tools like chat system, free images, audio, buttons...etc, and php nuke. This works mainly to enhance your web hosting service and website. You'll lose nothing if you decide against using them but if you do, it's wonderful tools to enhance your web site.

Tutorials and Training

Like I said, the web hosting business is really competitive these days. Everyone is offering some form of rock bottom prices for their web hosting services. I know some web hosting companies are actually offering site building trainings, search engine optimization technique and trainings, insights into the web promotion world training and free courses. If you get any of these and the price is reasonable, for for it. They will help you build a more credible web site from your web hosting service.

Baby Shower Ideas For a Budget Conscious Mommy

Whether you're planning your own baby shower or are hosting for a dear friend, it's no secret that planning the perfect baby shower can be an expensive endeavor. Between the cake, decorations, gifts and fun party favors, baby showers can quickly max out even the most carefully constructed budget. If you're worried that your next baby shower might break the bank, not to worry: we've outlined the best baby shower ideas for a budget-conscious mommy or friend. With all of these great tips and techniques under your party-planning belt, you'll have more money left over for the most important guest at the baby shower: your new bundle of joy!

Use Secondhand Decorations. Know someone who's had a baby shower before yours? You're in luck - since baby shower decorations can often stretch even the most lenient budget, using secondhand decorations will save you plenty of much-needed dollars. If you don't know anyone who's had a baby shower in recent memory, not to worry: either request that the host venue decorate the room with flowers and balloons, or you can request a special discount from baby and party stores. Most businesses are happy to accommodate the requests of expectant mothers, so don't be afraid to haggle on the price of decorations. After all, store prices aren't set in stone, no matter what they'd like you to believe!

If these techniques lead you nowhere, simply reuse decorations that you already have. For example, white Christmas lights will look gorgeous strung around the room, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how just a few inexpensive balloons can make a room look more festive. Place a few stuffed animals, baby toys and other baby-related around the party table for a nice touch that won't max out your party budget.

Use Real Cutlery. Want to save on cutlery? Instead of purchasing paper plates and plastic forks, opt for your real plates and cutlery instead. Yes, you might have more dishes to contend with, but you can easily save twenty dollars or more by using what you already have for food and cake. If you're really upset at the thought of doing dishes, enlist a friend or relative to lend a hand.

Bake Your Own Cake. Even the most amateur chef can easily whip up a large cake that will be the highlight of the baby shower. Instead of ordering a cake from a bakery (which can run upwards of $50, depending on your order), grab a few cake mix boxes from the grocery store and get to work on your culinary masterpiece. For a "sweet" touch that your guests will appreciate, add some special baby-themed designs to the frosting. Not sure you have the time to bake a cake? Enlist a talented friend or relative to whip it up for you. Remember, this event is a family affair; it's not up to you to plan every single detail, so don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it most.

Do Away With Paper Invitations. Now that everything is done via the internet, take advantage of this cost-cutting avenue by sending out electronic invites as opposed to paper invitations. Sites like Evite.com allow you to create and customize free invitations which will light up anyone's inbox. Got a Facebook account? Send out baby shower invitations right from your own profile in minutes - since everyone from your cousin to your grandmother is on Facebook, you can be sure that word gets out about your exciting baby shower.

Buy Food In Bulk. Feeding your guests can be quite a challenging task, especially if you have a number of friends and relatives attending your baby shower. However, you don't have to spend a week's salary on food just to keep your guests satisfied; instead, buy food for the party in bulk. A giant bag of veggies with dip will make a great finger food, while a cheap and easy deli platter will satisfy even the hungriest baby shower guest. Dessert can be found in the freezer aisle, where you can buy large quantities of mini eclairs, donuts and other glazed goodies. Head to your nearest wholesale store to find the best budget-friendly deals that will keep your guests well-fed and content.

Baby Shower Favors. Want to make sure that all of your guests leave with fun favors? Instead of spending a large part of your budget on favors, head to your nearest dollar store and stock up on mini-gifts. You can buy fun baby-themed toys and stuff them into mini-gift bags for an adorable touch, or buy more adult-centered gifts like scented candles, picture frames and the like. Whatever you choose, make sure that each guest receives his or her gift - after all, your baby shower will be a day that everyone wants to remember!

Birthday Party Thank You Notes

Birthday Party Thank You notes are often neglected, probably because they are thought of as a chore. But they can be fun if you give your child small cards - only a few words are necessary - and a selection of colorful stickers to use to decorate them. Choosing just the right sticker for each friend, or combining them to make a picture is a great activity for your child and will teach them a valuable social skill at the same time. If your child is too young, write the message for them.

Send your Birthday Party Thank-you note as quickly as possible. At the most, don't wait longer than a week after the party.

A hand-written note on stationary paper gives a nice personal touch that is always appreciated. It's not only considered proper etiquette, but a classy way to show your appreciation for attendance at your party or for a gift received.

Someone put a lot of thought and energy into choosing the right gift for the birthday boy or girl. Let the giver know how much their gift was really enjoyed. Always refer to the gift, such as "Thank you so much for the blue beach ball."

Send it via snail mail (the old fashioned way).

Thank-you Note samples:

Dear Hayley,

Thank-you for coming to my birthday party - you made the day that much more special.
Thanks so much for the awesome jigsaw puzzle!
Regards
Ned

Dear Daniel,
Just wanted to Thank You for helping me celebrate my birthday last week.
I love the car book! It's fabulous and I'm already enjoying reading it!
Regards
Digby

Tip: If you received a gift that is not exactly to your taste, you should still show appreciation for the thought that went into selecting it for you. You can always say...

Dear Tyler,
"Thank you for the bucket and spade.
I will always think of you whenever I use it."
Regards
Digby.

A Domain to Call Your Own - Finding the Best Web Site Host for Your New Web Pages

"Everybody is doing it." Boy you have heard that little phrase thrown at you often enough, especially when it comes to designing and hosting your web site.

It can get confusing, that's for sure. All we want is to get our web site up and have it work really well. But how to get from no web site or from a simple one to a sophisticated site? This is one of what seems like a million questions that come up as we make these important decisions.

Questions, Questions, Questions

The decision on finding the best web site host is not a trivial thing. So the questions that pop into your head can be both confusing and intimidating including...

  • How can I build a web site if I don't know any programming languages?

  • Who can I trust to help me get my ecommerce domain name registration done right?

  • What about Linux based web hosting? What are the advantages and who can advise me on this decision?

  • How do I decide who is the best web site host for me?

Our goal in this article to start to put some organization to the array of information that we all have to wrestle with when we are trying to pick just the right partner to put up the best web site host possible for our web pages.

Divide and Conquer

So often, when we are faced with a big problem, we have trouble getting our arms around how to even understand the problem, much less the solution. We know how hard it is to grapple with these questions.

They say that if you start to break a problem down into smaller and smaller pieces. So let's ask two really simple but important questions of each part of the problem.

  • What is the REAL problem here?

  • What will the solution look like?

STEP 1 - A Domain to Call Our Own.

This whole process of getting a domain name can become a maze to those of us who don't live and breathe computer lingo. Even if we were settled on our name, the path we need to tread to get the name reserved and getting it attached to our web site are hard to get your arms around sometimes.

The real problem is knowing what to do first, second and third. The whole issue of web hosting addresses and domain name registration seems murky and not easy to sort out.

The ideal solution would be to find the best web site host that would include services to either help us understand the whole domain registration process or just handle it for us at a reasonable rate.

STEP 2 - Talented and Cheap!

There really is no question that we are going to use a company to serve as our web hosting web site. So one of the primary goals of our quest is to find best web site host that will serve our needs well as we go online. To state it plainly, we want a web hosting service that is talented and cheap.

How can we cut through the hundreds of web hosting companies to find the one that is perfect for our needs? In short, we need a small business web host site that will be a repository of web design and hosting talent and they will offer there services for a reasonable price.

STEP 3 - There's No Place Like Home

Your small business host web site will reside on a server somewhere. That is the place you upload your web pages to and that handles all of the traffic and much of the "business" that is generated by your web site. So right now, you consider what the best web site host that your ecommerce business web site will call home.

The real problem also is finding the best web site host that knows what our problems are and how to deal with people who are not web programmers but want a high quality ecommerce web hosting provider that can meal all of our needs.

The real solution will look like a company that is built from the ground up around servicing people like you and me that need someone to cut through the mumbo jumbo and help us get our web site up and working well quickly and economically.

STEP 4 - Do I look Like a Computer Guru?

The computer industry is not an easy one for the regular businessperson to understand.

The real problem is NOT that you don't know how to program a web page or that your web programming skills are not up to the most recent bells and whistles the professional developers use.

The problem is that you SHOULDN'T HAVE TO know how to be a computer programmer just to have affordable ecommerce web site.

The ideal solution would look like a company that can not only provide anything from hosting a Linux streaming server to a FrontPage based host web site to a host MP3 site if we need it at a reasonable cost and without making us provide the training, the talent and the technical savvy to get the job done right.

STEP 5 - Where Do We Go From Here?

Even if you know exactly where you are in the development process, how do you go about mapping out what step one through one hundred is to take your site from where it is to a state of the art ecommerce web site?

The real problem can be summed up in one word - experience. We don't have it and we need someone with a wealth of it.

The real solution will be a company that wins your trust because they build their services around your needs, your budget and your timeline.

Are We Dreaming?

Are we dreaming that such a company exists? The search for a company starts with recommendations from friends and others who like us want an affordable ecommerce web hosting company. The list we get from our research will almost certainly include epinions as a research tool.

But better than that, you will be able to find additional services as the sophistication of our site grows and so do our needs. Their services are leveled so we can step up at our pace so we are always at a level that we need and always have an answer to that question "where do we go from here?"

Organising a kids party can be a fun event. We've listed the top 5 ideas here along with games and decorations for each type of party.

Fairy Party
Whether at home or at a venue these parties have always been a hit with girls. It is a great theme for dress ups and catering is easy... choose a colour, pink for example and make cupcakes with pink icing, have pink plates, cups, napkins and pink soda.

Decorating is easy by using glitter on the tables and using ornamental fairies throughout the party area. If you choose to have the party at home, it might be worthwhile to hire a fairy entertainer who will come and entertain the children too.

Pirate Party
A Pirate Party is a great idea for boys with so many fun activities you can organise. The dress up element to this idea is easy..a simple bandanna and eye patch with a drawn on scar on the cheek will suffice.

The best activity for this party is a treasure hunt. Create clues and have the kids search for them in a designated party area at your home or at a park.
Decorate with skull decorated cupcakes and chocolate gold coins on the tables.

Sports Party with an Olympics theme
Great for sporty boys and girls. Create an Olympic themed party in a large yard or park and have pretend gold metals for everyone. This is great for those who are very active and enjoy playing lots of sports. This is also a great choice as it is something both girls and boys will enjoy. Best of all too, you don't have to worry about themed kids clothing.

A great game to set up is a circuit of different activities. Group the kids into different teams so they can have competitions to see who can throw the most balls in the hoop within a set time and other similar games.

Kids can have a party where everyone has to dress up as their favourite superhero. This is suitable for both boys and girls and easy to host in the home. Decorating the party area with movie posters of their favourite superheros is a good start.

How to Conceive a Boy - With a Little Help From Mother Nature!

If you're having a baby, the question will undoubtedly crop up at some stage - Do you want a boy or a girl?

For some couples that very question is there right from the beginning, even before they start trying to conceive. The question going through their minds is 'how to conceive a boy'. Plain and simple, but with lack of answers.

There can be a whole host of different reasons why people would want a baby of a certain gender, for some it is just a preferred choice, for others it could be medical reasons. Some cultures and religions don't like you trying to play 'God'.

This I suppose can be totally understandable if you are medically trying to generate the sex of your baby. Such methods as Microsort, ICSI, IUI can all influence the gender of child that you could conceive. These methods though aren't cheap, costing anything from $500 to $5000 and sometimes more, is it worth the cash and the risk? That's right, there is still a risk. These medical methods only have an accuracy of 70-90%. Trying to get pregnant through these methods gives you a 35% chance of conception... Not good by any means!

So if you're in a desperate position, and you really want to know how to conceive a boy, you don't have to rely on medical procedures. Natural gender selection is becoming much more widely available today. Secrets that have only been known by doctors and certain scientists are starting to surface. Desperate women have started to research multiple methods and reduce them down into one tried and tested method, and do you know what.... It works!

The success rates of natural gender selection is starting to 'outdo' modern medical practice! Most natural gender selection methods weigh in at a whopping 90%, some even higher! The answer to your question, how can I conceive a boy is closer than you would ever dare to imagine!

There are several very important factors for conceiving a boy

  • You must know when you ovulate.

  • Be prepared to alter your diet slightly.

  • This also goes for your partners diet.

  • Have knowledge about your partners sperm.

  • Certain sexual positions are favourable.

  • Timing is crucial!

Cherish Your Baby Shower and Your Shower Cake Design, Forever and Ever

For the soon-to-be Mom and Dad the arrival of their bundle of joy is the biggest event in life. We are after all celebrating a cherished new life. Also, it's a grand moment for the relatives and friends to welcome your tiny baby and have a great time. Your baby-shower can be an experience to treasure, start by planning lots of fun pictures.

Get excited! You're thinking about and planning for an amazing experience. You state of mind can be infectious to those around you. You're planning for parents that have a full plate and are very anxious, too. It is an honor to host a party for this special occasion. Just remember the planning and arrangements you do will be appreciated by everyone so much.

And if you are mom-to-be; let your best friend know how much you appreciate her and how very important she is, for helping you with your baby shower:)

Right now, get even more excited because a fun party and celebration is in the works:) I'll be sharing my baby shower cake tips and tricks here and soon my baby shower cake secrets, too.

So much to do, so many arrangements must be planned. Arranging for your special baby shower cake is so important and can be a difficult job. Even in today's world, many folks want to jump start their imagination to give a party that special personal touch.

Whether it is a baby boy or girl, many ideas may be considered to insure you baby shower cake is the cake of your dreams.

Themed baby Shower-

The cake you pick could come from you local bakery or perhaps you order that special cake on the internet. Your cake should blend with the theme of the baby shower.

Many themes can be made to please mom-to-be. A nursery theme may be a good choice. Also, different animals, toys or sports can serve as the themes for ceremony as well as the cake. Definitely it is not a must that your baby shower should be a themed one. But a themed party is something you should at least consider. No matter what you choose; formal or informal theme or just no theme at all you'll want to plan for your best possible cake to suit your wishes and needs.

Home made or a ready-made?

Are you excited to be creating a special cake, a unique cake that only your own hands and heart can produce? Or perhaps you're comfy picking your special cake from hundreds of photographs available from bakery, local supermarket or caterer? Or just look at the photos to get an idea.

Or even getting a bakery cake and putting the finishing touches on it may be perfect for your busy life. You can see truly fantastic results just making your own unique touches, too.

Perhaps you're a do-it-your-self kinda gal and want to bake you own cake.

Mmmm-Mmmm; there's nothing like the smell of cake baking in your kitchen, not to mention the heavenly taste of homemade cake with your special icing. Your decision on what cake should be done first in order to help you pick your next step.

If you go with a bakery cake you can have a conversation with your baker to help him understand your needs. If you are good at getting into the flow of creativity (or just give yourself permission to get creative) the preparation of cake can be even more fun. There are tons of ideas to choose from. And if you innovate you'll have something unique and splendid at the same time.

You can place a photo on your cake to draw the eye. One friend of mine picked a photograph of mom-to-be. Another friend used her ultrasound pic of baby on her cake or chose any good idea that's in harmony with your shower theme.

You can have an amazing baby shower and a terrific cake to match by using a bit of imagination mixed with fun. For your consideration:

  1. Baby clothesline cake- without frosting you can purchase a sheet of cake in your favorite flavor. Then you can color the frost baby blue by adding a few drops of blue food color to the white frost. Use the colorful icing to decorate it with horizontal line across the cake. Little baby clothes and blankets can add to the attraction if hanged across the cake. At the top, draw a little sun and at the bottom, draw grass and flowers to make it beautiful. Some cute quote can be added on the cake to look coherent with the whole idea.

  2. Also you can prepare two round cakes and color them baby blue all the way round. After this, you can hang the clothesline and quote on the top.

  3. You can use even the baby blocks to decorate your cake. Write, "It's a girl" on top and make it look more attractive.

So, while designing your special shower cake, you can get very innovative and enthusiastic so your results will be something you friends will be talking about. After all we're making memories now that folks can cherish for a lifetime.

Decision-Making Process For a Baby Shower

Planning a baby shower for a friend who will soon be a mom is a great gift idea to show love and care for her. Not only you will host a fun and genuine moment for her, but she will also be given different gifts she could use in taking care of her little bundle of joy. However, planning a shower requires several important decisions to make for the hostess. As the master mind of the party, you should be aware of some factors and dos and don'ts during the planning process.

Deciding For The Right Time

You can throw a baby party anytime during the pregnancy period, or a few days after the mom gave birth to her baby. If you plan to arrange a party during her pregnancy period, make sure you don't do it early before her 5th month pregnancy as her increasing tummy size should manifest on the party. Also, you don't want to host a baby shower too close to the expectant mom's due date as it would be very difficult for her to freely move with a big baby bump she's carrying. So, the right time to throw a baby shower is at least 4 to 8 weeks before the date of her delivery.

Deciding For The Best Type Of Baby Shower Party

Usually, these are thrown for first timer moms during their pregnancy period. However today, it is becoming very common to throw parties for moms who will going have their second or third child. With this, you can plan a baby shower party even for a second or third timer mom. Furthermore, you may opt to throw a surprise celebration for an expectant mom. However, planning a surprise party for her will require you a proper care to prevent the guests from accidentally letting the mom know that somebody is planning a party for her, then it will no longer be a surprise.

In addition, you can also plan a party to welcome both the new mom and baby at home or anywhere you want. A welcoming party is often held after the baby's birth. However, you should arrange this party early after the child is born, as the new family need plenty of time to rest and recover from the tiring stage of their lives.

Deciding For Baby Shower Supplies And Accessories

Planning a party should start by first deciding the theme for the party. After the theme has been decided, you will then set a budget. The first two basic things will tell you what baby shower supplies and accessories you should purchase. Baby showers usually include items such as invitations, favors, decorations, menu, games and of course baby gifts. These are the most basic things a baby shower should have. You can find a wide assortment of these supplies both in local and online stores. Also, it would be nice if you have the expectant mom make her gift registry so that guests can easily shop for shower gifts she desires most.

How to Host a Backyard Fairy Princess Party For Girls

It's hard to incorporate a fun party for little girls and for adults. Many families have small children that want to have a princess party, but the parents want to invite neighbors and older children who may have grown out of the princess phenomenon and want to do more adult activities. How do you make it easy on yourself, but fun for all of your guests, young and old alike?

A fairy princess gathering in the backyard would be perfect. You may invite the adults to wear fairy wings to the party and hold a contest for who has the prettiest, most unique, smallest, biggest, funniest wings, etc. Adults love a challenge, so this would be a great way to get the competition going while still making it fun for the younger guests.

The children would be invited to wear a fairy princess or Disney princess costumes (or pirates & princes for boys). There could be a contest for the costume for kids as well. You may be surprised by how fancy parents will get when they know a competition is involved.

Decorate your yard with everything fairy. Of course, balloons and streamers in your little girls favorite color, pink and white, are essential. You could have fairy costumes hanging from branches on trees in your yard in which children attending the party could "win" by playing games and participating in princess activities.

The mother may want to dress up as a beautiful fairy and be in charge of hosting the games and activities. This would make the day extra special and get the adults involved. Each adult may be asked to bring a fairy princess game for the children to play and that would make it really easy for the parents.

Serve barbequed food like hotdogs, hamburgers and chips, and lemonade. Or make a true fairy princess tea party out of it and serve finger foods. You could even rent a popcorn machine or cotton candy machine to do something interesting and unique.

To end the party, you would serve cake and ice cream. You could make or buy a special fairy princess cake, like Tinkerbell. Or you could make cupcakes with fairy hair clips in the middle for the little girls to take home with them.

Make sure to send the adults and children home with something special as a favor. Some ideas for favors may include: fairy wings, fairy tutu, ribbon ties, fairy hair clips, a hand mirror (since fairies are so beautiful and like to admire themselves), snacks that fairies may like to eat, a fairy princess costume, or anything else you can think of that has to do with Tinkerbell or other fairies.

A great gift to give your child at a party like this would be a stunning fairy princess costume or a Tinkerbell DVD so she can learn all about what fairies do before she attends the party.

LEGO Party Ideas For a Kids Birthday Party

Lego Party Ideas... what child doesn't love to play with Lego toys? When you are planning your next child's birthday party why not take a look at Legos for your theme. You can find plenty of fun party supplies when Legos is the party theme. Lots of kids party games and even some easy ways to decorate that special Lego birthday cake.

When you are planning a child's birthday idea, why not go for a themed one. Initially it may seem like there is more organizing but once you have an agenda, it is really simple. For example, most boys are into Lego in some way or another. It is a great toy for constructing all types of things, from houses to working models of cars or trains.

There are plenty of Lego party ideas to choose from. Lego covers so many different themes themselves you could find yourself having a Star Wars party with Lego Star Wars characters, that is a very popular Lego theme. Or go with a SpongeBob Lego theme, a Lego firetruck theme or a police party or even a beach party if you chose the Lego City Coastguard Theme. Whichever Lego Party Idea you chose, send out Legoville party invitations letting your party guests what your theme is. Themed invitations are one of the many items you can choose from Legoville party supplies.

As Lego is such a colorful theme, you can ask the guests to dress up in different colors like a costume. When they arrive offer to paint their face. You will obviously need to check that the child has no allergies and don't paint over open cuts. Keep it simple i.e. have a different sponge for each color. Kids just love having their faces painted and they will not care that you are not Picasso. It will kick off the party on a great note.

You can carry on the color theme with the cake and the sandwiches. Using strips of colored icing will help make the cake look like Lego bricks. You can use layers of different colors jelly for deserts and food colorings will transform the plainest sandwich.

Lego party game ideas can be adapted to any of the themes you have chosen. For example, if you go for Star Wars you can play a variation of cops and robbers with one side being the dark side and the other Yoda's team. If you have gone for a color theme i.e. face painting etc, you could use some balloon games. Favorites include Catch me where all the guests receive a balloon with their name on it. The idea is that they have to keep this balloon or any nearest one in the air until the music stops. Whoever doesn't manage to keep the balloon floating is out.

If you want to have some relatively quiet time to calm the kids down, you could play draw the funny face on the balloon. The children pass around balloons and each person has to draw something for the face. So one draws the eyes, another draws the mouth and so on. Whoever pops the balloon is out and the last remaining child wins. You will obviously need a ready supply of balloons.

Use Lego party favor supplies to make up the contents of the party bags. You can buy individual packs of Lego that will have enough bricks to build one small item. Bubbles, crayons, coloring pages, temporary tattoos and stickers are always great for adding to the Lego party bags. Have lots of Lego fun with these Lego party ideas.

80's Party Games - Making Your Party a Night to Remember

The 80's were a time when big hair, tight jeans, air guitar and awesome music ruled the roost. If you're hosting an 80's party, games that tie these elements together will provide plenty of fun all-round.

"AIR GUITAR SHOWDOWN" 80'S PARTY GAME

From Van Halen to ACDC, Poison, Motley Crue and everything in between, the 80's were a classic era for rock music. What better way to pay homage to the 80's than with an air-guitar competition 80's party game? In terms of 80's party games, this is truly one of the best. Two or more guests (depending on numbers) have to act as judges, and crank up the music while everyone else shows off their air-guitar prowess. The music is stopped at intervals, with the least creative and flamboyant air-guitarist being voted off each time. The last person standing is the winner of this 80's party game, and the air-guitar champion of your party.

"NAME THAT TUNE" 80's PARTY GAME

When it comes to quintessential 80's party games, "Name That Tune" is a classic. Guests can play individually, in pairs or small groups. Snippets from 80's songs are played, and players must name each song by title and artist (half-marks can be awarded at the host's discretion). The player or team with most correct answers wins this 80's party game.

Whether reminiscing about the era makes you smile or cringe, a party devoted to the 80's - party games being an absolute must - is a fantastic way to remember a classic era.

Monster Jam Party Ideas For a Unique Kids Birthday Party Theme

Monster Jam Party Ideas For Kids

Monster Jam party ideas for kids are a just what you need if you are looking for a unique party theme to celebrate your kids birthday. The Monster Jam TV show and video games are very popular with children, both girls and boys, of all ages. These huge trucks with their oversized tires are fun to watch while they race each other. While some kids party ideas, like a princess or a sesame street party, get tired and old after a while, a Monster Jam party gets more and more exciting!

Planning a Monster Jam themed party will bring some thrills and excitement to the celebration for your kids and guests. You can find lots of exciting Monster Jam games and activities to keep your guests busy from start to finish.

Make your party theme known right from the start with some Monster Jam party invitations. You can find these in your local party store or online. You can also make your own party invites with a Monster Jam theme using truck stickers or pictures from magazines. Get some construction paper and cut the sheet in half. Fold each of the two pieces in half...and you have two invitations. Decorate them with the pictures and stickers, fill in the party details and send them out to all your guests.

To create a fun Monster Jam environment in your home, cut out some pictures of your favorite Monster Trucks. Grave Digger, Superman, Prowler, Batman, Monster Mutt are only a few of the trucks you could use to decorate your party room. You can find some really cool Monster Truck wall decals to use as party decorations. These wall decals are easy to apply and to remove and they create a huge effect when used as party decorations. Line the driveway or walk with some truck flags.

Use Monster Jam Rally ideas when serving your party menu. Make it feel like your guests are ordering from a stand at a truck rally. Serve food you would find at a Monster Truck event, foods like hotdogs, burgers, fries, chicken fingers, even some popcorn. That will impress your guests, and it is one of those small details about the party they will remember for a long time to come. You can make your menu a little bit unique and different by baking or decorating Monster Truck cake or a cake with a Monster Truck cake topper on it. You can even get some truck cookie cutters and bake some tasty cookies in the shape of trucks. Use frosting to let the kids decorate the truck cookies.

Party games and activities are an important part of kids party planning. Liven up the party with as many fun games and interesting party activities for the children as you can. Prepare some game prizes to give not only to the game winner, but to everyone who has participated in a party game. The kids will all be thrilled to get a fun prize. The game prizes can be inexpensive kids toys such as temporary tattoos with trucks on them, or some stickers. Play a game that involves some RC Monster Trucks if you own them. Having a Monster Truck race in your home or yard will absolutely amaze your guests and the birthday child will be in awe of his or her Mom, the best party planner ever!

Plan on watching an episode of the Monster Jam TV show or playing some of the video games with the same name. There is also a Grave Digger pinata you can buy and fill with goodies. Get a pull string pinata conversion kit to make it the safest pinata game in town and then let the kids get the goodies. Kids always enjoy the pinata game!

Lots of people think that Monster Truck party ideas are just for boys, but girls like them too. These huge trucks are fun for everyone, so give some serious consideration to using the Monster Jam party ideas for your next kids birthday party.

The Perfect Birthday Party For Your Boy

Shopping for a birthday gift for a boy can be somewhat overwhelming with all the electronics, action figures, and video games. Simple gift options that are still cool in the eyes of little boys are sports cards. There is a wide array of different types of cards, even football cards. Though finding a gift can be a pain, planning a birthday party for a young boy can be even more work.

Trying to decide who to invite to the party with your son or brother (or whoever the boy is that you are planning the party for) can be kind of difficult. During elementary school years, there is a lot of pressure on kids to invite people to prevent anyone at school from getting upset. To prevent your son or brother from upsetting anyone at school, you could potentially invite his entire class. However, inviting an entire class could be way too many kids and potentially too expensive. If you do end up having your son or brother invite only his close friends, it is a good idea to contact their parents about not talking about the party at school.

The next step is to think about if you want to do a themed party. You could do a party based on whatever hobby your son or brother is interested in. Sports parties are an easy one to plan. To do a large extravagant sports party, you could rent out a sports complex to let them play the party. If he is more interested in something like music, magic, or a popular cartoon, you could consider hiring some sort of performer for the party.

Another thing to think about when planning a party is what you want to do about food for the guests. It's usually easiest to buy a selection of snacks and candy and put them out in bowls for the kids to eat throughout the day. Then later in the night, you could always order pizza for an actual meal. Birthday cakes are a must have and an excuse to be a little creative. You could order a cake decorated to match the theme of the party or with a picture of the birthday boy on it. Another option is to cook the cake yourself which is harder but a lot of fun. They sell molds for different interesting shaped cakes and there is a lot of information online about how to bake fun cakes for birthdays.

Another little thing to think about when planning a birthday party is putting together gift bags for all the guests. An easy way to do gift bags is to go to the dollar store to find fun little toys and candy. A fun idea is to get little disposable cameras for each of the kids who attend the party. That way they can all take home photos from the party. Then you could give them each a little photo album or have them make little frames for the photos they take.

Chuck R Stewart recently sold his old football cards to a collector for a nice little profit. He also sold his old sports cards.

How to Conceive a Boy Revealed - Discover This Amazing Secret to Conceiving a Baby Boy!

If you are considering trying for a baby, and would ideally like to know how to conceive a boy, I can tell you that you are about to be amazed by this advice. What you are about to learn will really stack the odds of conceiving a baby boy in your favour.

Whilst research suggests that your diet and positions during sexual intercourse can influence the gender of your baby, the information I am about to share is, in my opinion, by far the most crucial thing you can do to potentially predict baby gender.

So what is this crucially important secret?

Well did you know that your man produces two types of sperm? He produces what are known as Y chromosome sperm and X chromosome sperm. The crucial difference being his Y sperm are male and his X sperm are female. This means that if one of his Y sperm fertilises your egg before an X sperm can, you will conceive the little baby boy of your dreams. And here is the good news. You can actually influence the probability of his Y sperm getting to your egg first!

Gender is not the only difference between the Y and X chromosome sperm. His Y sperm (the male sperm) can swim faster than the X sperm, but whilst being better swimmers they have much shorter lives. Therefore, and this is the critical bit, if you know your day of ovulation precisely you can time your love making to try and ensure the sperm of your choice has the best chance of fertilising your egg!

For example, when trying to conceive a boy you need avoid making love up until the day before you ovulate. If you make love any earlier, the male sperm will die leaving the female sperm free to fertilise your egg. By delaying intercourse until just before you ovulate, the faster male sperm will get to your egg first and so conceiving a baby boy!

There you have it, the crucial basics of how to conceive a boy.

Now discover how to precisely predict your day of ovulation so that you can plan your baby making to conceive a boy. Also learn other tips for increasing even further your probability of conceiving a baby boy at http://www.predictbabygender.net!

Kids Birthday Parties - Boy Have Times Changed

The days of simplistic kids birthday parties have long since passed and been replaced by more sophisticated ideas and fanfare. Many moons ago, when I was a child, kid's birthday parties were more or less only celebrated on the milestone birthdays: the first, fifth and tenth and in most instances, did not break the bank, as they sometimes do today. A little cupcake offering, on the other less impressive birthdays, was usually the offering of choice to the child's classmates; while a small homemade cake was offered at home with the family. Traditionally back in the day, a girl's sixteenth birthday was a time for a more grown up party and a bigger celebration.

Nowadays, children have a party pretty much every year and the parties become a little more elaborate as they go along; or at the very least, keep up with the reputation of the party the year before. It's hard to believe that children's parties have reputations, but kids do talk and believe it or not, so do their parents. A simplistic party just doesn't cut it anymore with the younger crowd or with their parents for that matter. Lunchroom talk determines if the party was a hit or a miss. Like it or not, it's a very competitive world we live in.

One can only speculate when the changeover took place, probably sometime around the time when baby dolls began to talk, walk, grow hair and go potty and electric speed racers and transformers (that can change from one form to another) came on to the scene. The more elaborate the toys it seems, the more elaborate the celebrations. Face it folks, it's a remarkable time we live in; we are the computer age generation after all. Heck, we don't even have to sing Happy Birthday if we don't care to, we can buy a birthday card or ballooon that can do it for us.

Theme parties are big and can be customized from start to finish. Customized plates, cups, napkins and wall decorations in various party themes can easily be found in neighborhood party stores or right at your fingertips on the World Wide Web.

In as much as things change, some things remain the same and little girls still love princess parties and little boys still love superhero parties. Customized parties from start to finish especially in princess themes are a real hit with little girls and their little friends. In more affluent neighborhoods, some children are asked to dress in princess costumes and the once dime store loot bags are often replaced with higher priced gifts for young party guests. In fact, a dime store loot bag would probably be frowned upon in the upscale neighborhoods and some less affluent ones too.

Children's parties change from decade to decade, but the one thing that remains constant is parties are always great fun when you celebrate with the people you love. So whether you go the traditional route and have something simple or go all out and have an extravagant affair, you are sure to have a great time!

Congratulations Party Games for a "That a Boy" Event

Congratulation party is a time of absolute fun and enjoyment. Everyone who is going to attend the party must wear a costume of their choice for example you can dress up with a dress of 70s and get your hair done the same way. It is not only going to make the party interesting but will definitely give it a very unique outlook. Arranging parties is nothing but coming up with creative ideas and that is something you have to work out. For this party, you need to come up with the Congratulations Party Games so that everyone feels themselves as a part of it. A few such games are as follows:

Pillow Game

In this congratulation party game, the seats are arranged in a circle. The participants are asked to take their seats and a pillow is passed on to them. The rules are then explained in which the pillow is going to be passed on till the music is played in the background. When the music stops, the passing on of pillow stops and the individual with the pillow is now asked to approach the host who has a bowl filled with different acts that need to be performed such as telling two good and bad things about themselves, the first words that they said on their first date, and any other creative ideas that you can think of. At the end of the game, just ask from the audience as to who was the best performer and then award the prize to the best performers.

Costume Performances

Since everyone in the party is wearing a specific costume, every individual is being asked to perform an act of that character from a movie. You need to mention this thing in the invitation cards so that everyone can have time to prepare for this event. This can be a really interesting event since everyone is going to perform different acts and can end up in a very hilarious moment of the congratulation party. This can be a very unique congratulation party game and everyone will definitely have a real party time. This game can be added to your list of congratulation party games as it will fill the air with utter excitement.

Every party has a theme on which it is planned and for this party the congratulations party games can provide a whole lot of excitement and fun for all the participants, especially the congratulations party games are going to sweep everything out.

How to Host Book Clubs For Boys

Books and boys are at times as difficult to mix as oil and vinegar. Studies have shown that there is a real crisis with boys and reading. In a survey conducted by the Young Adult Library Services Association back in 2001 boys listed their top obstacles to reading were; boring, no fun, no time or too busy, they would rather do something else, couldn't get into the stories, and some admitted they just weren't good at it. This attitude toward reading is obviously not declining. "The Boy Crisis" was the headline on the cover of the January 30, 2006, issue of Newsweek . A front-page story in the March 15, 2006, issue of Education Week proclaimed "Concern Over Gender Gaps Shifting to Boys." U.S. First Lady Laura Bush tells NPR she feels as though "we've sort of shifted our gaze away from boys for the last several decades." Even more recently, on the cover of Scouting September 2008 refers to "Reluctant Readers".

What can parents do to help their sons overcome these top obstacles to reading? A fairly new trend some parents are trying are Boys Book Clubs. A book club just for boys but that are energy oriented with activities and games that relate to boy books.

To start your own Boys Book Club there are a few things you should ask yourself.

1. Who should I invite? Sit down with your son and make a list of who he might like to invite. Brainstorm with him, thinking of friends from school, church, sports, and the neighborhood.

Survival tip: Limit the size of the club to how many can comfortably at your table. Sitting at a table helps eliminate the inevitable silliness that happens when boys are on the floor or even on the couch. When every boy has his own space, there is less elbowing, poking, pinching and rough-housing in general.

2. When and where should our club meet? It doesn't really matter when or where. What is important is that it is consistent. You expect the boys to read the book, they expect to be rewarded with a book club. Set a firm date and then stick to it.

3. What are we going to read? [http://www.gusread.com] is a great resource in finding books that boys read and authors that write just for boys. Boys don't want to get in touch with their feelings, they are also turned off by female heroes. Authors who write for boys like Dan Gutman, Gary Paulsen, and Anthony Horowitz understand this and keep their stories packed with action and adventure while teaching them something on the sly.

4. What do we do at our Boys Book Club? Take cues from the books you read. For example, if you are reading The Million Dollar Shot by Dan Gutman, have the boys play "horse" . Have a free throw contest to see who can make the most free throws. Once you've gotten some energy out, start your discussion of the book over pizza. If you need more ideas check out http://www.bookclub4boys.com. They have free book club outlines that include incentive games to really motivate boys to read.

The most important thing a parent can do for their boy in encouraging him to read is never give up, provide books boys like and stay positive. Even if you have to begin reading the book to your son to get him hooked. The more he is exposed to books the more likely he'll be to read a book. The more he reads the better reader he'll be and if he knows a book club meeting is coming up- he'll be that much more motivated.

Laura Blum is a mother of four boys with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Over 5 years ago she was struggling with this same issue and started a book club for her sons. She started http://www.bookclub4boys.com to share her Boys Bookclub outlines after she saw the success they had on encouraging reluctant readers. She proudly shares that her so-called reluctant reader now can read 2 grade levels above his own. He still prefers to do other things, but she has peace of mind knowing he can read and will read if he needs to.

Kissing Party Games

Here are two fun kissing party games that teenagers would enjoy.

Kissing Race

Props: None

Number of people: 8+

Can be played in a big room or outdoors.

Divide your guests into two groups - boys and girls. Let the boys number themselves from 1 to ? and let the girls do the same. Players must keep their number a secret.

The host stands in the middle and call out two random numbers - if the host is male, then the first number will be that of a girl and the second number that of a boy. Whoever's number was called must run up to the host to kiss him. The boy whose number was called must try to kiss the girl before she gets to kiss the host.

Whoever manages to 'get there first' takes over he roll of the host in calling the next two numbers.

Play until everybody has had a turn or until the game decends into chaos.

Boys' Birthday Party Ideas For a Sensational Celebration

Boys' birthday party ideas can be based on many different themes. Westerns, science fiction, superheroes, or any sports games that they hold interest in, football, baseball and skate boarding to name just a few. You might have boys who are part of a Cub group or Scout organization, these will also make great themes for their party.

Always be sure to decorate the party room according to the type of theme you are having. You might get some bales of hay for a western theme and have some pictures or posters of rodeos or cowboys herding cattle. A horseback trail ride might be a good idea for outdoor fun before you return to the house to watch the movie and begin the gift giving. Boys can come dressed in their cowboy hats boots and jeans. Western holsters and guns are easy to find in toy stores and dollar stores.

Small gifts to give out are bandanas and western books that can be cheaply purchased at used bookstores. Having a backyard barbeque to go along with the western theme will always be appreciated. Serve ice cream floats in large beer mugs for added affect. Pull out the guitar and have some old fashioned western music along with a sing-a-long.

If you are going with a sports-themed party, then having a tournament of some kind is a great idea. Some ideas for this include a table hockey tournament, a video game tournament and more.

Decorate with paper streamers of your child's favorite sports team colors and create pennants out of felt. Hang team posters on the wall and Silly String a room to simulate field lines and markers. Boys birthday party ideas are endless!

Hosting a Murder Mystery Party - A Great Idea

A murder mystery party is a great idea for all occasions. In one event, you can have a tasty meal, a few drinks, and a 'who done it?' game.

Almost everyone will find murder mystery parties appealing. Running around and looking for clues are fun times. For those few hours, you get to act like a child again and play a simple game.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit this, but I have a little bit of a soft spot for bad reality television. Just the other night, I caught part of a show - don't really remember what it was, but it was one of the girls' birthday and she decided to have a murder mystery dinner party.

Everyone who was in attendance came prepared for an all-out battle; these people were all dead-set on winning. The guests came dressed in 1940s garb head-to-toe, and some of them even spoke as if they lived during that time as well. They were all having a really great time!

All kinds of people are getting involved in this adult-sized game of Clue these days. Many businesses and corporations are even jumping on the murder-mystery bandwagon. It makes perfect sense to do so - participating in an event like this builds camaraderie among the employees and also acts as a great team-builder.

Murder mystery events do not have to take place at some expensive restaurant to be successful. You can host a party right in your own home. To make the game as believable as possible, as your guests arrive, greet them in character. And set a dress code - make sure everyone involved is playing along.

Once everyone has gotten settled, make sure to do introductions. If everyone already knows each other personally, great! But, they are most likely unaware of what their role is in the game.

Not every murder mystery has to involve someone getting shot in the parlor by the butler's mistress. As these events become more popular, versions for the younger generations and those in conservative groups are starting to pop up. An interesting one I found was centered on a high school dance and the popular homecoming king turns up missing.

These games go even younger, with just-for-girls scavenger hunts at birthday parties for pre-teens and a co-ed group aged 12-14 with a western themed mystery.

Regardless of what kind of party it is, hosting an event like this is a pretty big feat. The average murder-mystery kit comes with clue cards, voting ballots, invitations and envelopes, name tags, evidence cards, crime scene sketches and instructions on how to use all of this stuff. So, if you are thinking about having one of these parties, just know that it does take a little bit of advance planning.

I think you'll be pleased with how it turns out. A murder mystery party is a great idea for any occasion. Work-related, birthday parties, or just for the fun it - people just love a great mystery!

Oktoberfest Party Games - Raise Your Glasses, Everyone!

Oktoberfest is known internationally for its beer, food and frivolity. To get into the spirit, there's absolutely no reason why you can't bring a little bit of Germany to your abode and host an Oktoberfest party. Games like those below will be sure to raise a few laughs and liven up the occasion.

"Beer Jug Relay" Oktoberfest Party Game

This Oktoberfest party game is a great one for when everyone has partaken in a few ales! It needs to be played outside, as it could involve getting wet if you're not careful. All that's needed for this game is 4 large buckets, 2 beer jugs and a fairly long area in which to play the game. Before the game, fill 2 of the buckets and place them side by side at the starting line, and place the 2 empty buckets side by side at the finish line. Players split into two even teams and line up, with the person at the head of each line receiving a beer jug. The object of the game is for players to fill their team's bucket at the finish line, by taking turns to transfer the "beer" from one bucket to the other. The trick is, each player must do this by filling the jug and balancing it on the palm of their hand as they walk down. The first team to transfer all their "beer" is the winner of this Oktoberfest party game.

"A what?" Oktoberfest Party Game

This is also a great game for when festivities are well underway. After a couple of beers, guests won't know their "whits" from their "whats". All that's needed for this game is 2 small objects, for example a knife and a fork. Guests sit in a circle, and the two objects are given out randomly. The game starts by one of the players holding an object passing it to the person on their right, saying "This is a whit". The person on the right replies "A what?" to which the first player responds "A whit". This question-and-answer routine continues halfway around the circle, at which point the second object - a "watt" - is added to the circle and sent around in the opposite direction. Anyone who confuses their "whits" with their "watts" or their "whats" must leave the circle. The last 2 players left are the winners of this hilarious Oktoberfest party game.

Friendly and Friendlier - Dating Tips For Teenage Boys Who Want the Hottest Girls

When does the torture ever end? First it was pimples. Next it was that embarrassing voice change. Now, to add up to all the problems teenage life brings, here comes the biggest problem of all: girls. Giggling, squeamish, blushing girls.

Life would be much simpler if you could just ignore them the way you did back in second grade. But it's not that easy. The girls in high school are no longer what they were when you were still playing tag in the playground. They're so much nicer and more fun and... beautiful.

It's not easy to talk to girls (yes, TV makes it look so much easier). I mean, after practically ignoring them from kindergarten to the seventh grade, can you really expect a guy to just go up to a girl and say "Hi, remember me? I'm the kid who pushed you into a mud pie when we were seven"? So, what do you do or say when you want to talk to a girl?

1. Separate her from her pack.

Do you notice how teenage girls tend to go around in droves like wolves out for a hunt? These female "packs" are deadly. If you want to talk to a girl without being stared/giggled/laughed at, try to catch her without her posse when you approach her. This will not only save you from extreme nervousness and the possibility of embarrassing yourself, but will also give you and your girl some time alone to talk and get to know each other.

2. Find out the things she likes.

Are the awkward silences freaking you out? You'll have a lot more to talk about if you knew her hobbies and interests. Do your research. Does she like movies? You can talk to her about the latest box office hit. Is she into books? Ask her about her favorite authors and tell her about yours. Does she play basketball? Perfect! You can schedule a play-off next weekend. Knowing what a person likes not only helps you keep the conversation flowing. It also gives you an idea of the things you have in common - and those that you don't.

3. Take it easy.

Don't declare undying love for her a day after you've talked about your favorite ice cream in the school cafeteria! Take it nice and slow. Girls don't like being rattled: it takes time for them to open up to new people in their lives. Don't rush it. Save the mushy poetry for later. For now, concentrate on being her friend and only that. Once you've reached friend status, then you can start thinking about getting a bit "friendlier."

4. Group date.

Once you've established friendship, you can now move on to the next step: asking her out. At this point, it is much better to go out with friends, as being in a group would make you both feel more comfortable. Also, this is a good time to observe a girl you like in her "natural" state. Having other people around would take the pressure off of her in trying to impress you. The way a girl acts with and towards her friends says a lot about her personality. Trust me, you'd want to know.

With these four tips, you're all set! Welcome to world of teenage dating, boy!
